From Two Brothers with a Clear Mission to 26 Years of Excellence and Customer Satisfaction in Pool Financing.
Two brothers, Greg and Bill Powell, joined forces in 1999 to fill a need in the swimming pool industry: A one-stop-shop for desirable pool financing options which eliminated the hassle for both the customer and their builder.
At the time, pool financing was offered primarily as secured loans and took a lot of time and know-how to arrange financing for a pool buyer. The time and effort required by a pool builder to help their customer find a great loan and manage the loan process was too much. Viking Capital provided them and their customers with a far better option. Viking Capital, Inc. was established in 1999 and in less than a year, they hired their first employee and opened an office on Caledonia Street in Sausalito, California.
Swimming Pool financing has changed significantly since our company’s inception, but Viking Capital’s core values and mission have not. Today, Viking Capital acts in the capacity of consultant, working with lenders to pair pool buyers nationwide with the best swimming pool financing options. We are proud to partner with the best pool builders in the nation to offer their customers great loans and service and appreciate our long history of referral business.
Viking Capital, Inc. is now headquartered in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, though our team members now span out all the way from the East Coast to the West Coast.

Greg Powell
President
Greg has been in the home improvement and finance arena for over 30 years. He began in marketing for Sears Home Improvements and then transitioned to finance in 1994 when he started at Green Tree Financial. Green Tree eventually became General Electric and after five years as G.E.’s top producer, he left in 1999 to start Viking Capital. He’s proud to lead the finest finance company in America and his incredible team that always outperforms the competition.

Kevin brings over 20 years of managerial experience, marked by an unwavering passion for elevating customer service standards. With an uncompromising commitment to success and a bold vision for the future, he is dedicated to steering Viking Capital toward unparalleled heights of achievement in the dynamic landscape of home renovation loans. Amy Woodward
Processing Manager
Amy has been a processor with Viking Capital for almost 4 years and became the Processing Manager in January 2024. She has an extensive 20-year background in banking and finance and is a graduate of Maryland Banking School. When she isn't being our MVP processor, she loves going to the beach and being with her family.
Sarah Bess
Director of Business Development
Sarah has been with Viking Capital since 2022 and has 9 years’ experience specifically in swimming pool and home improvement financing. She leads our business development division, and her team of 4 account managers strive to provide all our contractor partners with excellent service and communication.
Olivia Powell
Director of Marketing
Olivia has been with Viking Capital since graduating from Florida State University in 2020. She has been in Business Development for 4 years until recently becoming the new Director of Marketing. She loves getting to be creative and work closely with the rest of the team. Residing in San Diego, she is our western-most staff member, and she greatly enjoys taking your calls while walking on the beach.
Sean Hickham
Managing Partner
Sean joined the Viking Capital team at the end of 2024. Prior to coming aboard, he garnered years of experience in multiple industries as Head of Capital Markets in real estate, Senior Vice President and Head of the Institutional Group for CNL Securities, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Trustreet, Vice President of Mid Cap Markets for GE, and Senior Vice President of Fund Management, just to name a few. Since the age of 20, he has been making waves as the voice and face of these organizations and now we are fortunate to have him working his charm and extensive know-how at Viking Capital. Sean is also a father to three sons and in his free time enjoys fishing and golfing.

Established in 1999, Viking Capital is a family-owned business proudly helping homeowners invest in their homes to improve their quality of life. Viking Capital acts in the capacity of “consultant”, working with lenders to pair homeowners nationwide with the most desirable swimming pool/home improvement financing options available. Once your application is submitted, one of our loan consultants will help you select the best loan for your needs and qualifications.
Unlike an unsecured personal loan that can be used for any purpose, swimming pool loans are designed specifically for financing major home remodels, renovations, swimming pools and the like. They are usually for projects exceeding $25,000 and offer desirable rates and extended loan terms (up to 20 years) so borrowers will have affordable monthly payments. These loans do not require property as loan collateral. Instead, the lenders look at a borrower’s ability to pay (income and debt) and creditworthiness (credit scores).
In some cases, a loan approval and disbursement of funds can occur in one day – even the same day! However, some loans require documentation from the borrower as proof of eligibility. So as the borrower, you can impact the process timeline. Be assured, Viking Capital has a great processing team who works with each borrower and lender to expedite the loan process.
